Have you ever questioned why there are two different prices when you get a quote from a stone supplier?
A Foot run (FR) & square feet
Quotation Example: -

Supply & Install Quartz Stone Kitchen Top | 15 FR | RM 450 | RM 6750 |

All Total | RM 12,150 |
What is the reason for having two unit pricing options? Isn't that a bit confusing?
Let's find out the reason behind.
When will the stone suppiler calculate the stone countertop in foot run (FR)?
The foot run price is for standard-size kitchen top.
What is a standard size?
The total width of the front edging, kitchen top, and backsplash does not exceed 700mm.
How to calculate cost in foot run?
The cost of a foot run is based on its one-dimensional size. Just calculate the overall length in feet.
Example: -
The length of an L-shape kitchen top is 14 foot.
The estimate cost for the L-shape kitchen top is 14 FR x RM 450 = RM 6300
Foot run price includes: -
- The stone material
- Fabrication includes cutting, mitre cutting, joining and polishing
- Countertop installation
- Delivery the goods to the site.
When will supplier calculate the stone countertop in square feet (SF)?
If the combined width of the front edging, kitchen top, and backsplash exceeds 700mm, then we will calculate in square feet.
How to calculate cost in square feet?
The cost of a foot run is based on its two-dimensional size. You need to calculate the length x width and covert to square feet with an unit covertor app.
Example: -
Island Top with 3000mm(Length) x 1000mm (Width) is 28 SF (You could use an unit convertor to get the square feet)
The estimate cost for the island top is 28 SF x RM 270 = RM 7560
Conclusion
Foot run price is created to calculate standard kitchen top's cost faster and easier.
Wherea the square foot price is for all kinds of calculations such as island top, wall cladding and flooring.
